About us!
Welcome! We are Hecnel and Pablo, two Venezuelan immigrants who moved to Minnesota over seven years ago. Our journey has taken us through various career paths and entrepreneurial ventures. Along the way, finding balance in our lives has been an adventure filled with challenges and enriching experiences. What has always guided us is our unwavering commitment to staying focused on our dreams and making them a reality.
A few years ago, we launched a radio program called “Tú y Yo en la Radio” (@tuyyoenlaradio). The show was born out of a desire to share inspiring stories from Latino entrepreneurs and businesses, aiming to connect people and promote a sense of community. What started as a platform for storytelling soon became something much more meaningful — it brought us closer to the community, inspired us deeply, and made us ask ourselves: What more can we do to give back and continue contributing to our Latino community?
The Venezuelan migration crisis, which is often compared to Syria’s humanitarian crisis (though it is not the result of a civil war), has caused the forced displacement of more than six million Venezuelans worldwide. Over the past decade, this exodus has been driven by a humanitarian emergency that continues to affect Venezuela.
In Minnesota, the Venezuelan community has grown steadily over the years. We’ve had the privilege of embracing new cultures, learning from others, and adapting to life in a new country. However, we remain deeply connected to our roots, traditions, and, most importantly, our essence.
Our Mission
We aim to celebrate and strengthen our community through cultural, artistic, and recreational events.
Our goal is to promote cultural integration and artistic exchange within the Latino community by organizing events such as concerts, festivals, exhibitions, sports activities, and fairs that bring people together.
We believe in the power of culture and art to foster a sense of belonging, identity, and pride. Our core mission is to promote and preserve our cultural identity while creating spaces for entertainment, recreation, and community engagement for Minnesota’s growing Latino population.
Together, we are stronger, and together, we will continue to build a vibrant, united community that celebrates its roots while embracing its future.
